Youth Programs
The Town of Hay River Recreation department is proud to offer programs and activities that are specifically focused on providing recreational opportunities for young people within their communities. These programs aim to promote physical activity, social interaction, and overall well-being among youth, while also fostering a sense of belonging and community engagement. Youth programming may include sports leagues, fitness classes, outdoor adventure activities, arts and crafts workshops, out-of-school programming, and other recreational events and initiatives. These programs not only offer fun and engaging experiences for young people, but they also contribute to their physical and mental health, social skills development, and personal growth. Through participation in youth programming, young people have the chance to learn new skills, build positive relationships, and develop a lifelong love for physical activity and healthy lifestyles. The majority of our programming operates out of the Community Centre, though on occasion may be held in different locations around town.
YOUTH PROGRAMMING
Youth Programming features activities and initiatives that take place outside of school hours. These programs are designed to emphasize active, engaging and safe play and activities. Our team works closely with the schools to plan for PD Days, early dismissal and seasonal breaks.
