The Town of Hay River’s Economic Development Division is dedicated to encouraging economic growth in our community. As the ‘Hub of the North’, our town is in a strategic location for business in Hay River and throughout the North. Our location, along with our devoted and educated workforce is one of the many reasons businesses build and grow in Hay River.

The Town of Hay River provides ongoing services geared to assist existing businesses, while also encouraging the development and growth of new businesses. These services include the following:

  • Assistance with and facilitation of community-based development projects and services.
  • Referral source and liaison services for numerous government, industrial, and community-based services and organizations and business associations
  • Development and expansion of tourism-based initiatives through collaboration with programs and organizations whose objective is to support and build a tourism economy.
