NorthWords NWT is currently seeking judges from anywhere in the NWT to assist in selecting the best books published by Northern authors in 2022 for our 2023 book award.
As a judge, your responsibilities will include reading all submitted books in both the youth and adult categories. Additionally, you will be expected to participate in 2-3 discussions about the books and evaluate/rank each one to help determine the recipients of the awards in each category.
If you are selected as a judge, you will receive the books in February 2024 and must complete reading them by April 2024. Final decisions will be made in early May, and the awards will be presented at the NorthWords NWT Writers Festival in May/June 2024.
In exchange for your participation, you will receive a small stipend and will be able to keep the books you read.
