Application for a Land Use Permit
Posted onCOMMUNITY UPDATE
The Town of Hay River is making application for a Land Use Permit as part of the process for several municipal projects over the next five years, which require geotechnical investigations to support engineering. Geotechnical drilling will occur within the municipal boundary of Hay River. The geotechnical investigations will be conducted on behalf of the town by qualified personnel, following best practices and related statutory requirements.
The geotechnical investigations may consist of the following:
• Drilling with hollow-stem or solid-stem auger, or core drill (truck-mounted or track-mounted)
• In-situ testing (such as standard penetration tests)
• Collection of soil samples for laboratory analysis
• Installation of thermistors or wells in boreholes
The Town of Hay River is currently only seeking input for the required Land Use Permit. Further engagement will continue as the project progresses. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Patrick Bergen, Director of Infrastructure and Planning Services with the Town of Hay River at ipsdirector@hayriver.com.
