Bylaw Enforcement

The Town of Hay River Bylaw Division operates under the direction of the Director of Protective Services and in accordance with the town bylaws. The bylaws are enforced in a manner that protects the general public’s quality of life and aims to preserve the beauty and functionality of our town.

The Town of Hay River Bylaw Division is also responsible for overseeing property standards and animal control. Furthermore, the bylaw division authorizes business licenses and taxi permits.

For ease of access for residents, visitors and those passing through Hay River, attached is a link for a new online reporting form to make By-Law Complaints. People can now go online to the link provided and submit a complaint electronically from home, work or mobile. This is to ensure a quicker and more accurate response when investigating and dealing with complaints.
